human rights

Adopting a human rights based approach to poverty alleviation means working directly with the most vulnerable people. Needs and rights must be identified on an individual level, and the concerned persons and their communities involved in designing strategies. The generally accepted human rights principles are a source of inspiration at all times:

  • Universality and indivisibility – of human rights
  • Non discrimination and equality – of humans
  • Accountability and rule of law
  • Participation and inclusion
